  • Patent number: 7949947
Abstract: A system and method of converting a file is disclosed that is based on a first standard to a file that is based on a second standard. The concerned standards can be IEC 61970 and IEC 61850 or their equivalents. For conversion, a file based on IEC 61970 is coded according to CIMXML (RDF Schema), and a file in IEC 61850 is coded according to SCL (XML Schema). The data in each file is modelled by using a UML model for the corresponding standard. The method includes the automatic generation of mapping rules that can be based on the UML models of the two standards and the mappings between the two standards. The method further converts the identified elements by using the generated mapping rules. Finally, post-processing rules can be applied to the converted elements to generate the file, based on the second standard.

  • Patent number: 6970771
Abstract: A method and a system for integration of a field device in an installation control system having a communications network and a control station functions in that a field device transmits a functional description of device functions to the control station in a standardized form, whereupon functions associated with the field device are installed on the control station, and communications links are set up between the device functions of the field device and the functions of the control station. In one preferred version of the invention, device functions are automatically or manually combined with an installation structure. The invention is preferably used with high voltage or medium voltage switchgear assemblies and leads to a considerable reduction in the complexity for specification and commissioning of installation internal communications links and to higher quality of a resulting installation control system.

  • Publication number: 20020174127
Abstract: The aim of the invention is a data organization system having at least one data classification structure for describing a classification system with user-definable classification elements which have a user-definable relationship with one another; one or more application programs which can use access means to access the data classification structure, and a program-internal data representation structure with classification elements which incorporate or are able to incorporate resources, where the data representation structure has been synchronized or can be synchronized with the data classification structure by its application program.
