  • Patent number: 4458728
Abstract: Let-off motion for elongated material wound on a let-off beam. Such let-off motion comprises a tension detector connected to the input of a let-off element, the output of which is connected with the control element of the driven let-off unit, with the input shaft of the drive and output shaft of the let-off drive, which responds to changes of the control magnitude value in its control element by a change of the relation of angular velocities between the input and output shafts. The input of the let-off element is a rotary disc slidably arranged between two axially arranged clutch discs of the let-off element, the clutch discs being mutually positively rotatable in opposite directions. The clutch discs of the let-off element are drive-coupled with the input shaft of the driven let-off unit, and the disc of the let-off element is provided with a central, internally threaded hole which receives and is threadedly mated with the threads on the spindle of the let-off element.

  • Patent number: 4402347
Abstract: A loom capable of weaving a wide variety of cloths, the loom requiring at most the simple exchange of gears to permit it to weave cloths of widely varying characteristics. The loom has an input driving element for the warp beam let-off motion which is drivingly connected with the output element of an adjustable transmission mechanism of the let-off motion drive, while the input element of the adjustable transmission element of the let-off motion drive is drivingly connected with the transmission mechanism of the positive drive of the cloth take-up beam. The input element of the adjustable transmission of the let-off motion drive is drivingly connected with the output element of the transmission mechanism of the positive drive for the take-up beam, the take-up beam being also drivingly connected with such output element.

  • Patent number: 4241764
Abstract: There is disclosed a control mechanism for the sand rollers of looms. The output of the cloth take-up motion of a loom is drivingly connected to a first input shaft of a differential gearing mechanism, and the second input shaft of the differential gearing mechanism is drivingly connected to the output shaft of an electric motor. The electric motor is under the control of a mechanism which selectively permits its starting and stopping. The output shaft of the differential gearing mechanism is drivingly connected to the sand roller. The electric motor is preferably of the reversible type, the means for controlling the motor then including means for selectively reversing the motor. During the ordinary operation of the loom, the sand roller is driven by the cloth take-up motion through the differential mechanism, the electric motor being then switched off and locked.

  • Patent number: 4240471
Abstract: There is disclosed a back rest mechanism for a loom. In a first disclosed embodiment a back rest roller is rotatably mounted on the outer ends of parallel arms or levers, mounted for oscillation about their inner ends, which are connected for joint movement by a hollow back rest shaft. Deflection of the back rest roller by the warp passing from the warp package on the warp beam to the shed of the loom is resiliently opposed by one or more torque rods extending between and connected to a central portion of the back rest shaft and a fixed part or structure, such as the frame, of the loom. Means is provided for adjusting the basic torque to which the torsion bar or bars are subjected under a predetermined set of operating parameters of the loom.
