Abstract: An audio system for vehicles, in particular for motor vehicles, comprises a device component (A) permanently fixed to the vehicle, and a mobile component (B) connected to the device component in a mechanically detachable way. The device component further comprises a control unit (1), and the mobile component further comprises a transponder for storing a numerical code. The function of the audio system is interrupted when the mobile component is removed from the device component, and resumed, following an authorization check, when the mobile component (B) is replaced. The authorization check is performed by the control unit which further comprises a comparator unit (2) for comparing the numerical code transmitted by the transponder (T) with a security code previously stored in the device component.

Abstract: A method for sound control of audio signals within a defined frequency range in which the gain of the audio signals is varied using a control element and the filter quality factor and/or the mid-frequency of the audio signals are varied simultaneously by the same control element used to control the gain.

Abstract: A keyboard is pivotally mounted on a pull out shelf to be raised from a reference position to desired angles of inclination within a range of angles, and is associated with apparatus for positively locking the keyboard following movement of the keyboard to a desired angle of inclination and its release; with the weight of the keyboard acting to maintain locking action. The apparatus effecting the locking action comprises a toothed segment whose arc and teeth define a range of angles. Associated with the toothed segment is a supporting arm biased to follow upward keyboard movement and on which the keyboard after being raised to a desired angle of inclination rests.

Abstract: A display device for indicating the value of a measured quantity includes a plurality of display elements, each representative of a primary value range. A driving circuit is responsive to a sensor output signal and activates individual ones of the display elements when the sensor output has a value representative of one of the primary value ranges of the measured quantity, and activates adjacent display elements simultaneously when the sensor output signal represents intermediate value ranges of the quantity.
