Patent number: 9398160Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing Voice over IP (VoIP) in a communication system with a number of terminals operating with VoIP, between which a transmission of voice data according to VoIP or a signalling is achieved, wherein the signalling is achieved using the Computer Supported Telecommunication Application (CSTA) interface standard. Telephone services can be controlled by a computer using the CSTA protocol. As for conventional application, H323 protocol and SIP are used for IP telephony processing of audio/video streams of a conversation. The invention is based on replacing H323 protocol and SIP by a CSTA protocol only when the latter is correspondingly extended.Type: GrantFiled: July 4, 2007Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: Unify GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Claus Rist, Otto Schröter

Patent number: 8713123Abstract: There is described a method of sending CTI messages in a communications system. The method comprises assigning to each of a plurality of CTI messages a priority indicator selected from a plurality of different priority indicators, sending the plurality of CTI messages from a queue formed by the CTI messages such that the time interval between two messages sent from the queue depends upon the priority indicator assigned to the first of the two messages to be sent, whereby the time interval between messages being sent from the queue may vary.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2005Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Assignee: Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co KG.Inventors: Otto Schröter, Michael Volkmann

Patent number: 7624191Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a CTI communications system in the 3rd party configuration, employs a communications system having a plurality of terminals which, for a communication connection between two or more terminals, generates a call which comprises prescribed information about the connection, a TSP and a plurality of clients which are connected to the TSP and communicate with the TSP via a CTI interface. For the purpose of transmitting files or logging data between the clients, the invention proposes transmitting the data for transmission from one of the clients to the TSP via the CTI interface and writing them to a prescribed memory area for the call. These data can be read by the other clients associated with the call, likewise via the CTI interface.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2002Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Andreas Marschall, Otto Schroeter

Patent number: 7415103Abstract: The invention relates to a method and configuration for controlling and/or monitoring terminals connected to a communications system. In order to control and/or monitor terminals, which are connected to a communications system and which have at least one controllable/monitorable function, an application sends a first message with the call number of a terminal, which is to be controlled and/or monitored thereby, to a telephony server. This telephony server conveys this call number to the communications system that, as a response, conveys terminal information via the controllable/monitorable functions of the relevant terminal. The telephony server comprises a database with data records that describe controllable/monitorable terminals, and comprises at least one data record which can be supplemented and which contains an identification number.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2003Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Andreas Marschall, Otto Schröter

Patent number: 7006619Abstract: A system having at least two communication systems which manage resources in each case, in which in each case an identification code is assigned to the resources for identification, and in which the resources managed by a single communication system can be differentiated on the basis of their identification codes, and having at least one application for controlling and/or monitoring the resources by transmitting messages comprising the identification code of the respective resource between the at least one application and the communication systems, characterized in that an extension of all identification codes is provided for differentiating the resources, which extension is performed at least by every communication system when sending messages and comprises an unambiguous identifier of the sending communication systems, at least whenever a plurality of resources have the same non-extended identification code in each case.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2002Date of Patent: February 28, 2006Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Claus Rist, Otto Schroeter

Publication number: 20040047338Abstract: Data are interchanged between a communications application and a communications installation via an IP network. To this end, the communications application uses an application-end primary control unit to communicate with the communications installation. A first transmission path is used to interchange basic control data and the user data on the basis of a first transmission standard between the primary control unit and the communications installation, and a second transmission path based on a second transmission standard is used to interchange extended control data between an auxiliary control unit and the communications installation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2002Publication date: March 11, 2004Applicant: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Bernd Gronostay, Gregor Scholl, Otto Schroeter

Publication number: 20030079034Abstract: A communications installation, having a first interface, is controlled and/or monitored using at least two applications, where control or state data are transmitted via a connection that uses the first interface. Connected between the communications installation and the applications is a transmission unit having a second interface to the communications installation and third interfaces to the applications. At least two of the applications can be connected to one of the third interfaces. The first and third interfaces use the same data format for data interchange and make the same functions available. The transmission unit supplies the control or state data in bundled form to the communications installation, on the one hand, or supplies or makes the control or state data available to the applications, on the other hand, according to the transmission direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2002Publication date: April 24, 2003Applicant: Siemens AGInventors: Claus Rist, Otto Schroeter
