  • Patent number: 4735257
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement in an interior panel (2) or the like having a rearwardly located space through which air which has been heated is arranged to flow, to eliminate the radiation of cold from a wall, a floor or the like. In accordance with the invention, the space is confined and divided into at least two thin air cavities (4,5), by means of an intermediate plate (3) which extends parallel to the interior panel (2) and which comprises a material having good heat-insulating properties. The heated air is arranged to be circulated in the air cavities, around the intermediate plate. A heater is provided for heating the air passing to the air cavity (4) adjoining the interior panel, to a temperature of at most some few degrees above the room temperature. A fan (10) is controlled by an air flow control regulator (10') which is actuated by a thermostat (14) which compares the temperature of the air as it moves out of the inner space (4) with the intended room temperature.

  • Patent number: 4445499
Abstract: A method of storing thermal energy in a body which is in direct thermal contact with the surrounding earth. The energy is transferred to said ground body from heat absorbing devices, specifically solar heat absorbing devices, by circulating a liquid in a circuit incorporating a plurality of channels in the ground body and said heat absorbing devices. The thermal energy stored in the ground body is removed therefrom by means of the circulating liquid and used to control the heat of an object such as a building by circulating the heated liquid around the building in a further circuit incorporating further channels and heat emitting devices. The channels in the ground body are arranged and sized in accordance with the calculated amount of thermal energy supplied to and taken out of the ground body period such as one year.

  • Patent number: 4186795
Abstract: An arrangement for exchanging heat between a system of pipes which conduct a fluid heat exchange medium and a platelike heat exchange member. The arrangement is particularly intended for use in connection with air temperature regulating means such as solar heaters and waste heat systems which operate at a small temperature differential between the temperature of the plate-like heat exchange member and the fluid medium. Mutually facing surfaces of two substantially parallel material layers form a plenum. One of these surfaces comprises one side of the plate-like heat exchange member. The pipes which conduct the fluid medium are arranged parallel to one another in the plenum and are spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of the plenum. A stream of gas or air is arranged to flow through the plenum. Gaps are formed on opposite sides of the pipes by spacer means.
