    Abstract: A network interface device for providing a demarcation point between a central office of a telecommunications network and the customer's premise wiring, whether a copper wire cable or a fiber optic cable. The NID includes a base unit having a back wall having a perimeter and a continuous side wall extending from the perimeter of the back wall, the continuous side wall having a first wall portion and an opposing second wall portion wherein the back wall and the continuous side wall define an interior cavity. The NID includes a cable entrance port and a cable exit port in the first wall portion where both the cable entrance port and the cable exit port include a groove in an external surface. The NID includes a first connecting port and a second connecting port within the opposing second wall portion wherein the connecting ports are configured to accept the groove in the cable entrance and exit ports.

    Abstract: A device that replaces the traditional 66 block device has improved pair-to-pair wire isolation to facilitate the transmission of both POTS and xDSL signals. The device includes a non-conductive lower member and a non-conductive upper member that retain a plurality of pairs of electrically conductive stampings therebetween. Each of the pairs of stampings is positioned to be in electric contact with each other such that a signal can be transmitted from one stamping to the other stamping. The stampings are utilized to electrically connect external telecommunication wires to internal telecommunications wires. Each toggle of a plurality of toggles is independently and pivotally connected to the upper member and includes a through bore for accepting an end of a wire that is accessible to an installer when the toggle is in an open, un-terminated position. Each of the toggles are movable from the open, un-terminated position to a closed, terminated position.

The housing has a circuit board with a connector that will plug into the telephone jack on the wall mounted jack plate, and has outlet jacks for connection to remote equipment. The latches pivot between a released position wherein they clear the existing studs so that the housing can be placed against the existing wall mounted jack plate, and a latched position where the latches are held in place on the studs and the housing is supported on the existing jack plate. Studs provided on the housing replicate the position of the studs on the existing jack plate.

    Abstract: A communication line adapter assembly is used for converting an existing wall phone mounting plate into a filtered outlet jack for use with DSL lines. The adapter has a housing that fits over the existing studs of a wall plate for a wall phone, and has a spring loaded latch which latches the assembly in position when the adapter housing is mounted over the existing studs. The latch holds the head of a stud from being removed by preventing sliding of the stud along the mounting slots in the direction for release. A filter is carried on the adapter housing, and a cover plate that replicates the positioning of the telephone wall mounting studs is mounted over the adapter housing.

A comb is separate from the spring block and the jack housing, and is attachable to the spring block. The comb holds ends of the plurality of conductors in spaced relation to one another. The spring block and comb, when attached, are insertable as a unitary piece into the opening in the jack housing.
