  • Patent number: 5501043
Abstract: A kit for constructing a yard barn comprising: a roof structure comprising, a plurality of elongated vinyl sheets of the type used as horizontally extending siding with each sheet having an upper and lower longitudinal curved edge created for interengaging locking one sheet to an adjacent sheet; a plurality of rafters supporting the vinyl sheets which are attached directly to the rafters; fasteners for attaching the vinyl sheets to the rafters; the rafters being composed of two angled members connected at their ends; a floor structure comprising a pair of prefabricated deck assemblies of reduced weight and size, each deck assembly comprising a network of joists attached at their ends to a side rail to form a support skeleton having an upper surface; a deck panel attached to the upper surface of the support skeleton; the network of joists having first joists attached at their ends orthagonal to the side rails, with intermediate joists extending between the first joists and with still further joists extending b

  • Patent number: 5375381
Abstract: A kit for the assembly of a building structure has a plurality of side walls, a floor, and a roof. The kit comprises a plurality of precut building members, each building member having end portions configured to abut adjacent building members to form a building structure, each building member having a predetermined location relative to the remaining building members in the building structure. The kit also comprises means for properly positioning predetermined building members relative to one another, the positioning means having first and second members. The first member is prefabricated to include a lip for partially overlapping a side wall and a bevelled edge. The plurality of building members may include a plurality of precut studs and rafters and the first member further may comprise a plurality of notches in spaced-apart relation, the notches being sized to permit the insertion of the studs therein.

  • Patent number: 5335462
Abstract: A building structure includes outer walls, a roof having a lower border that overhangs one or more of the outer walls, and a frame for supporting the outer walls and roof. A top frame member is secured to the frame, extending longitudinally, and forms a portion of the outer side walls. A wall panel is received in a bottom edge of the top frame member and a board member having holes therein is received in a top portion of the top frame member. The board member, top frame member and wall panel form the outer side wall of the building. Rafter tails are also mounted to the frame, and overhang the outer side wall and top frame member. The rafter tails are covered by an overhang deck and a facia board. Air is allowed to enter the chamber formed between the rafter tails, overhang deck and facia board and pass through the board member into the building structure, thus providing a flow of air into the building.

  • Patent number: 4573293
Abstract: A building structure includes outer walls, a roof including a lower border that overhangs at least one of the outer walls, and a frame for supporting the outer walls and roof. The frame includes a frame member forming part of an upper portion of the one outer wall. The frame member has a top edge adjacent the roof and a bottom edge. A wall panel is secured to the frame adjacent the bottom edge of the frame member, such that the panel forms the lower portion of the one outer wall. The structure also includes at least one spacer member supported on the top edge of the frame member. The spacer member has a side surface that forms the upper portion of the frame and a top surface at an acute angle with respect to the side surface that supports a roof member to provide the lower border of the roof. The building structure also includes a shelf member positioned between the top edge of the frame member and the bottom surface of the at least one spacer member.
