Publication number: 20200371608Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an electronic input device is described. The electronic input device includes a scribing shaft disposed within a housing, the scribing shaft to translate along a longitudinal axis as a result of contact with a substrate. The electronic input device also includes an input sensor. The input sensor includes a plate secured within the housing. The plate elastically deforms responsive to the translation of the scribing shaft. A full-bridge strain gauge of the input sensor is disposed on a surface of the plate. The full-bridge strain gauge detects a deformation of the plate and outputs a corresponding signal, which corresponding signal varies dependent upon the amount of deformation of the plate. The input sensor also includes a failure protection device to limit the deformation of the plate to within a predetermined amount.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2018Publication date: November 26, 2020Applicant: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Fred Charles Thomas, III, Jon Anderson, Owen Richard

Publication number: 20200233776Abstract: Embodiments generally relate to performance testing of software code. In some embodiments, a method includes executing a software program, where the software program includes at least one target portion of code to be performance tested. The method further includes receiving a data stream, where the data stream includes a plurality of events, and where the at least one target portion of code processes the plurality of events based on an event rate. The method further includes monitoring for failures associated with the at least one target portion of code processing the plurality of events. The method further includes modifying the event rate if at least one failure is detected, where the event rate is modified until no failures are detected. The method further includes generating a performance report if no failures are detected during a target success time period.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2019Publication date: July 23, 2020Inventors: Michael Owen RICHARDS, Michael S. Patent number: 10514729Abstract: Examples disclosed herein provide a computing device. One example computing device includes an enclosure and a support member rotatably connected to the enclosure at a first end of the support member, via a shaft disposed within the enclosure along a perimeter of the enclosure. The computing device includes a panel connected at a second end of the support member opposite the first end. As an example, the panel is to enclose the enclosure when the support member is to rotate towards the enclosure. When the support member is to rotate via the shaft, the support member is to wrap around the perimeter of the enclosure.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2014Date of Patent: December 24, 2019Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: David Quijano, Owen Richard, Jonathan D.
