    Abstract: An asset tag apparatus and method of monitoring assets uses a wireless communication protocol to generate and transmit output values of sensors coupled to a beacon within a transmission range to a computing device. The advertising message of the wireless communication protocol is transmitted when a sensor output exceeds a threshold or on periodic time basis. Historic sensor data occurring at consecutive sensor threshold exceeding events is interleaved with live sensor output data in consecutive advertising packets.
