Patent number: 5161852Abstract: A vehicle convertible top linkage assembly having improved means for controlling the articulation of the convertible top as it is raised and lowered. This linkage assembly includes a pair of pillar links that are pivotally coupled to the vehicle and a pair of balance links that control the articulation of the convertible top. The balance links are coupled to the linkage assembly by coupling means that simultaneously allow the balance links to be pivotally and longitudinally displaced. Longitudinal displacement of the balance links is accomplished by a variety of displacing means and serves the purpose of actuating the control links. These displacing means displace the balance link when the convertible top is being raised and lowered to provide various paths of movement.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1991Date of Patent: November 10, 1992Assignee: ASC IncorporatedInventors: Michael P. Patent number: 5045742Abstract: Motor for commercial and industrial applications such as golf carts and lift trucks. Features include a thin shell; stator; stator winding; and rotor. Rotor laminations have equally circumferentially spaced semi-closed slots having area for receiving conductors, and the ratio of the number of rotor lamination slots to the rotor outer diameter (measured in inches) is greater than 14.0. In one construction, this ratio is about 15.75; the ratio of the outer diameter to the rotor slot length is from about 9.04 to about 9.16; and the ratio of rotor slot depth or length to rotor slot opening width is from about 10.8 to about 12.5. Cylindrical stator lamination has a given outer diameter and a certain bore diameter determined by the distance between opposing poles. Through-bolt holes are located in the yoke, proximate the outer periphery thereof, and centered with respect to each pole. The ratio of stator pole neck minimum width to two times the yoke thickness or width is from about 0.809 to about 1.009.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1990Date of Patent: September 3, 1991Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Frederick J. Patent number: 4744044Abstract: The specification discloses a hand-held calculator particularly adapted for dimensional or measurement calculations. The calculator includes keys for indicating a different dimension system (e.g. feet, yards, meters) associated with each number inputted, enabling calculations to be performed on numbers from mixed dimension systems. All inputted measurements are converted to decimal feet internally to simplify calculations and simplify conversion structure and routines. Preferably, a dimension power (e.g. square or cubic) can also be associated with each input number as necessary; and the calculator calculates and displays the proper dimension power resulting from any calculation. Further preferably, the calculator includes a keyboard enabling lumber dimensions to be easily inputted for board feet calculations.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1986Date of Patent: May 10, 1988Assignee: Electronic Teacher's Aids, Inc.Inventors: Howard H.
