  • Patent number: 8631478
Abstract: Managing a lifecycle of a shared privileged account via a proxy service which comprises an Identity Management (IdM) system that defines and manages identity services, which in turn manage privileged accounts used to access managed targets. Each of the identity services is mapped to a privilege group of the proxy service and an ID pool manager is implemented to manage sharing of the privileged accounts. A request is generated to access a managed target with a privileged account. A shared privileges module generates a shared ID authorization account and associates it with the requestor. The shared ID authorization account is populated with sign out information for a shared privileged account, which the requestor uses to access the corresponding managed target. When use of the shared privileged account is ended, the shared privileges module disassociates the requestor with the shared privileged account by deleting the shared ID authorization account.

  • Publication number: 20120180112
Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium are disclosed for managing the lifecycle of a shared privileged account. A proxy service is implemented with an Identity Management (IdM) system that defines and manages a plurality of identity services, which in turn manage a plurality of privileged accounts used to access a plurality of managed targets. Each of the identity services is mapped to a privilege group of the proxy service and an ID pool manager is implemented to manage sharing of the privileged accounts. A request is generated to access a managed target with a privileged account. A shared privileges module generates a shared ID authorization account and associates it with the requestor. • Publication number: 20100004745
Abstract: Systems and techniques for fusing bone or bone fragments. In one aspect, an apparatus includes an interbody member holder comprising a connector and a channel arranged to form a flow connection between the interbody member holder and an interior channel of an interbody member held on the connector.

  • Publication number: 20050285402
Abstract: The ocean wave energy converter uniquely includes a generator with a rotating inner rotor surrounded by a counter-rotating outer rotor for generating electricity. A reciprocating drive rod drives the inner rotor on the downstroke of the drive rod and the outer rotor on the upstroke of the drive rod through a gear driven driveshaft with clutches. A buoy is attached to end of the drive rod whereby the undulation of the ocean waves relative to the buoy reciprocates the drive rod between the upstroke and the downstroke positions.

  • Publication number: 20020117984
Abstract: A blended electrical/friction braking system includes an electric brake feedback monitor which monitors a first signal corresponding to an electric brake effort request of an electric motor of an electrically powered vehicle. The electric brake feedback monitor detects one or more electrical conditions of the electric motor during electric braking and selectively supplies/terminates the first signal to/from a brake controller as a function of the first signal and the one or more electrical conditions. In response to termination of the first signal thereat, the brake controller causes a friction brake of the vehicle to assume the entire braking effort of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6043505
Abstract: A fluid monitor determines the quality, intensity and/or level of a fluid by transmitting a beam of light through the fluid and evaluating any changes to the shape of the beam as a result of being transmitted through the fluid. The monitor includes a light source and a lens which generate an incident beam of light having a predefined cross sectional shape. The beam is transmitted through a volume of the fluid, which modifies the shape of the beam as a function of the fluid quality, intensity and/or level. The beam can be polarized before being transmitted through the fluid or after beam transmission. The polarized beam is directed to a detector which evaluates the horizontal and vertical components of the beam and provides a shape signal to a detection circuit. The detection circuit processes the shape signal received from the detector to determine the quality, intensity and/or level of the fluid based on any variations from the predefined shape of the incident beam.

  • Patent number: 5713541
Abstract: An electric power vehicle includes a propulsion system connected to a direct current (DC) source via a supply line. The propulsion system converts the DC supplied via the supply line to an AC electrical power to operate an AC motor at a desired level. An electromagnetic interference detection system for the vehicle includes an EMI processor connected to a current transducer and the propulsion system. The transducer detects AC signals appearing on the supply line and provides an output to the EMI processor. The EMI processor determines the frequency, amplitude and duration of the detected AC signals and causes the propulsion system to adjust the AC electrical power supplied to the motor as a function thereof.

  • Patent number: 5021665
Abstract: A fluid level monitor for sensing the level of fluid in a reservoir such as for sensing an oil level in an internal combustion engine crankcase containing a quantity of oil, the monitor includes a light source for generating a light beam having a frequency which causes fluorescence in the fluid and a fiber optic cable for transmitting the light beam to the reservoir for exciting the fluid in the reservoir to generate fluorescent radiation and for receiving the fluorescent radiation emitted by the fluid as a result of the excitation. The monitor also includes a photodetector for receiving the fluorescent radiation and for generating a signal which is a function of the intensity of the received fluorescent radiation and a display for receiving the signal to indicate the level of fluid in the reservoir.
