  • Publication number: 20050051006
Abstract: A food slicer has a substantially parallelepiped or approximately cuboid housing with a rear wall and a front wall disposed at a distance from the rear wall. An interspace is formed between the two walls, the space is accessible via a removable housing wall, and it is used to receive a drive unit with a drive motor and a gear mechanism that drive a circular cutting blade at the front wall. In order to provide the housing of such a food slicer with a high degree of rigidity in a simple manner and to create a food slicer which is easy to assemble, the removable housing wall is formed by one of the narrow-sided housing walls and the other housing walls are joined to form a unit, thereby resulting in a very stable food slicer structure.

  • Publication number: 20050045010
Abstract: A food slicer has a housing with a first push-button for actuating an electric switch for operating the cutting blade and a second push-button, i.e., a safety button, locking the first push-button against actuation. The second push-button actuates a mechanical lock which can be engaged and disengaged, blocking the first push-button in an inserted position of the lock, thereby preventing actuation of the electric switch that triggers an electric motor drive used to actuate a circular cutting blade. The first push-button is formed with a stop surface for the lock on which the lock is arranged, when it is in an inserted position, either at or in close vicinity of an axis extending through the center of the push-button surface, pointing in the direction of actuation, and on which the lock engages in an inserted position.

  • Publication number: 20050045011
Abstract: A food slicer has a housing with a front wall that serves as a positioning plate and a back wall formed with an opening in which a rotary knob is mounted for adjusting the positioning plate. The rotary knob has a threaded section, a handle section, and a catch device. The rotary knob, which adjusts the cutting width upon rotation, becomes dirty only slightly during use and it is easy to clean. The catch device is configured such that, when the knob is mounted in the housing, it is covered and cannot be seen from the outside. The advantage thereof is that dirt is prevented from being deposited on protruding catching hooks or on sections of the housing or on the rotational handle.

  • Publication number: 20040068005
Abstract: Pharmaceutical combinations for treatment and/or prevention of all sorts, periods and complications of diabetes mellitus in mammals, thus including the pre-diabetic diseases and their complications, optionally including furthermore ischaemic heart disease comprising an effective dose of at least one enzymatic nitric oxide (NO) donor active ingredient and optionally comprising an effective dose of at least one antidiabetic active ingredient, and further optionally comprising usual pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and/or other auxiliaries. The combination may consist of more than one pharmaceutical compositions. The effective doses related to the new insulin-sensitizing effect are considerably lower than the usual doses related to the know effect of most active substances dues to metabolic effects that influence insulin sensitivity in healthy and insulin resistant mammals. The usual dose of NO-donors is necessary when the patient has also ischaemic heart disease.

  • Patent number: 6529852
Abstract: A device and a method for measuring the pose of mechanisms includes at least one effector object fixedly joined to a mechanism (e.g., industrial robot, hexapod) in which the at least one effector object moves along one of several axes. The ideal, effective shape of the at least one effector object is a point, a straight line, a plane, an ellipsoid, a cylinder, a hyperboloid or a combination thereof. The movable effector objects interact with reference objects which are arranged in defined positions relative to the mechanism. The interactions are detected by a suitable sensor. The interactions are detected, only the pertaining joint configuration of the mechanism is transmitted to the information processing unit and evaluated and no further continuous values of measuring parameters are required for the evaluation.

  • Patent number: 5509370
Abstract: A lightweight vehicle which is operational on water, mud, marshy areas and other ground surfaces which includes a raised main frame upon which controls are provided for independently rotating at least one pair of drive drums which are mounted on opposite sides of the main frame. The drive drums are of a hollow cylindrical configuration and of a size to provide sufficient buoyancy to allow the vehicle to float on water. Each drive drum is provided with a spiral flute for developing propulsion and is driven by one or more hydraulic motors mounted axially with respect to the drum. Cutter bars are mounted to the frame and extend toward the ends of the drums to prevent debris interference with the drive shafts or bearings on which the drums are mounted.

  • Patent number: 4005685
Abstract: Fuel injection apparatus for injecting gasoline or other combustible fuel into the cylinders of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a fuel injector body having a diaphragm through which a needle valve extends and a constant fluid pressure is maintained on one side of the diaphragm to urge the needle valve toward closed position. A higher fluid pressure is intermittently applied to the other side of the diaphragm so that the needle valve is opened to spray fuel under pressure into the internal combustion engine, and when the higher pressure is relieved the introduction of fuel is interrupted.
