    Abstract: A system that is used at pharmacies where the identity of the individual purchasing medication needs to be verified. The system incorporates magnetic swipe cards that have refillable monetary amounts that are deducted every time the patient is dispensed medication. The system also incorporates fingerprint verification and facial and retinal information to insure the correct patient's identity and whether the patient's authorization to acquire the medication has not expired. The prescription is placed in an electronic lockbox which opens when the individual has been properly identified.
