Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighting device in a motor vehicle. The lighting device includes a light source for emitting light and at least one plate-shaped light conductor, which is made in form of a block optics. The block optics includes two boundary surfaces which run opposite towards each other at a certain distance, a totally reflective side surface between the boundary surfaces, and a light coupling-out area arranged between the boundary surfaces. A coupling-in section is arranged on at least one of the boundary surfaces. The lighting device further includes at least one substantially rod-shaped light conductor with a light output area which extends along the longitudinal extension of the light conductor in addition to the at least one block optics.
