  • Publication number: 20100254558
Abstract: A loudspeaker is provided that passively achieves a directional polar response at low frequencies with a high degree of attenuation between the front and the back of the loudspeaker. The loudspeaker 11 has a transducer 13, an enclosure 21 behind the transducer, and port openings 29 in the sidewalls 23 of the enclosure to allow a back-wave produced by the transducer to exit the enclosure and combine with the front wave produced by the transducer. Cancellation behind the loudspeaker at low frequencies is achieved by delaying the back wave with low loss. Low loss delay at low frequencies is achieved by inserting a low-density fibrous fill material 33 in the acoustic chamber 27 formed behind the transducer 13 by the enclosure 21. A fibrous material is selected having a low-pass transfer function and low acoustic loss in its low-frequency pass band.

  • Patent number: 6816131
Abstract: A single horizontal scan range CRT monitor that includes a receiver for receiving display signals in a digital format from an external source, the initial display signals having one of a plurality of input resolutions, and a converter connected to the receiver and supplied with the initial display signals for detecting the input resolution of the initial display signals and converting the initial display signals to digital output signals having an output resolution selected from a plurality of different output resolutions matched to the detected input resolution of the initial display signals, and wherein all of the plurality of output resolutions have a same horizontal resolution and all of the digital output signals have a same horizontal frequency.

  • Patent number: 6448945
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing image correction for a multifrequency display system. The apparatus comprises a circuit that generates a first signal based on a correction signal, a horizontal synchronization signal and a vertical synchronization signal. The apparatus also comprises a deflection circuit that generates a deflection signal based on the first signal and the vertical synchronization signal. The deflection circuit is operable within a range of frequencies. A video processing circuit coupled to the deflection circuit, and receives a video input signal and the deflection signal. The video processing circuit generates an output video signal based on the deflection signal and the video input signal.
