Abstract: The object of the invention is a filter paper characterized in that it includes between 70% and 100% by weight of cellulose fibers, wherein between 50% and 75% by weight of the fibers are long fibers, understanding by this fibers that have an average length greater than 2 mm, and between 25% and 50% by weight of the fibers are short fibers, understanding by this fibers that have an average length of less than 2 mm; between 0.1% and 5.0% by weight of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose; and wherein the weight of the filter paper per unit area is between 25 and 55 g/m2, measured according to UNE-EN ISO 536:2013 standard; the density thereof varies between 0.100 and 0.500 g/cm3, measured according to UNE-EN ISO 534:2012 standard in a single sheet; and the porosity of the filter paper is between 1500 and 8500 ml/min·cm2·kPa, measured according to UNE-EN ISO 2965:2019 standard. The paper filter including said filter paper is also an object of the invention.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for coating paper wrapper for smoking articles, which comprises a combination of gum arabic, preferably between 40% and 95% by weight with respect to the total dry material weight of the composition, and a filler that comprises calcium carbonate, preferably in an amount of at least 5% by weight with respect to the dry material weight of the composition, alone or in combination with other substances such as, for example, kaolin, calcium sulphate, titanium dioxide and mixtures thereof, and to the use thereof for producing a paper wrapper for smoking articles.

Abstract: The present invention describes a single-layer printing method of a wrapper for smoking articles, so as to obtain a wrapper for smoking articles with low propensity to ignition using the flexographic technique, characterized in that (1) the printing is carried out by means of a central drum flexographic printing machine using a single printing unit, (2) said unit has an anilox with a capacity of between 10 and 40 cm3/m2 and a printing cylinder equipped with a printing form selected from a stencil plate plus an adhesive, and a sleeve, and (3) in that an ink is used that comprises at least one film-forming substance and a mineral filler. The present invention also relates to the wrapper that can be obtained by this method and to the smoking article that includes said wrapper.

Abstract: A method is described for the manufacture of a paper for self-extinguishing cigarettes, by reducing its permeability to air, obtained by applying continuously or onto well defined areas, a composition based on gum Arabic or acacia gum, with or without a fire retardant filler, the application of which is carried out by printing techniques such as serigraphy, heliogravure, flexography or off-set. The concentration of the gum arabic or acacia gum in said composition may vary between 0.15% and 50% by weight, while the amount of product deposited onto the cigarette paper may vary between 0.5 g/m2 and 10 g/m2, by weight.
