  • Publication number: 20230281456
Abstract: A multi-modal artificial neural network and a self-supervised learning method for training that network. The learning method involves processing, using a first modality simple Siamese network, a pair of first modality augmented views of an input; processing, using a second modality simple Siamese network, a pair of second modality augmented views of the input; determining at least one cross-modal loss between the first and second modality simple Siamese networks; determining a total loss from: (i) first and second modality losses respectively determined during the processing using the first and second modality simple Siamese networks; and (ii) the at least one cross-modal loss; and training the first and second modality simple Siamese networks based on the total loss. The trained network may be used to analyze multi-modal content such as video content that has an audio track. A Multi-Modal Multi-Head Network (M3HN) may also be trained to process modality-specific and modality-agnostic representations.

  • Publication number: 20220275126
Abstract: Random terpolymers are characterized for being tolerant to high concentrations of divalent ions, such as calcium, magnesium, strontium and barium, and that for their application in the reservoir or production rig, treated water, sea water and/or connate water can be used as means of transportation. Furthermore, the terpolymer also can be used to inhibit and disperse mineral scales presents in cooling system and boiler employed in the chemical and oil industry. Also, random terpolymers of the present invention have the characteristic of complying with environmental standards established internationally and are classified as particularly non-toxic, so it can be used in pipes and equipment of the petrochemical industry and with the use characteristic freshwater and seawater from offshore and onshore facilities.

  • Patent number: 9453450
Abstract: A method of estimating a mass flow rate of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas includes sensing a mass flow rate of a flow of exhaust gas from the engine. A nitrogen oxides base concentration for when the engine is operating at a reference state is defined, and a nitrogen oxides ratio for a current operating state of the internal combustion engine is calculated. The mass flow rate of the flow of exhaust gas, the nitrogen oxides base concentration, and the nitrogen oxides ratio for the current operating state of the engine are multiplied together to define an estimated value of the current mass flow rate of nitrogen oxides in the flow of exhaust gas from the engine. The estimated value of the mass flow rate of nitrogen oxides may be compared to the output from a nitrogen oxides sensor to determine proper functionality of the nitrogen oxides sensor.

  • Patent number: 9109394
Abstract: The disclosed adjustable ladder support mechanism solves the problem of unstable extension ladders with a mobile base that can be moved by one man, the base then expanded in both length and width. With the stable base set up, the ladder can be extended, the angle adjusted, and the operator can safely climb the ladder. Worries of the ladder slipping sideways off the ledge against which it is leaned are eliminated. The adjustable ladder support mechanism has two main sections: the base, which provides stability, and the tower, which raises the ladder above the ground.
