  • Patent number: 10171977
Abstract: A communication network and a power converter cabinet including a control unit, a power switch, a sensor and wherein the first communication point is connected to the control unit inside the power converter cabinet, and the second communication point is connected to the power switch, and a sensor inside the power converter cabinet. The communication network includes: a first antenna configured to wirelessly transmit/receive in the mm-wave frequency band, and a second antenna configured to receive/transmit wirelessly in the mm-wave frequency band, wherein the first and second communication points are configured to set up a communication link with multiple propagation paths, to send data between different active devices inside the power converter cabinet.

  • Patent number: 9461926
Abstract: A wireless communication device providing a node in the network includes a wireless transmitter, a wireless receiver, a transmission buffer, and a packet prioritizing unit configured to obtain data relating to packets to be transmitted in the network, obtain indications of the remaining lifetime of the packets, where the indications are based on the time needed for reaching a destination node, prioritize the packets according to the remaining life time indications, where the prioritization is made in ascending order from an indication of a low remaining life time to a high remaining lifetime, and place the packets in the transmission buffer for transmission according to the prioritization.

  • Patent number: 9277586
Abstract: A method for maintaining network lifetime of a wireless network in wireless communication system, the network including a plurality of device nodes. Selected ones of the wireless nodes have assigned roles in the wireless network. To improve and maintain network lifetime the method includes determining a below threshold operating condition of a first sensor node assigned to a first role and re-assigning the first role to another second node in said network. In other aspects of the invention a method, system and a computer program for carrying out the method are described.

  • Patent number: 8963777
Abstract: A method for localizing a node in a wireless network, the method including: receiving location signals transmitted by beacons, the location signals including information about the locations of the respective beacons; detecting the respective received signal strengths of the received location signals; obtaining information about the different signal levels at which the beacons can transmit; studying the received location signals; determining the signal levels used by each of the beacons for the transmission of the location signals, based on the studying of the received signals; calculating a distance to each of the beacons based on the detected signal strengths and the determined signal levels; and localizing the node by means of the received location information and the calculated distances. The invention also relates to a node ant to a wireless network.
