    Abstract: A terahertz endoscopic system including a flexible waveguide and system optics. The waveguide is configured to transmit terahertz radiation from a first end of the waveguide to a second end of the waveguide proximate to a sample, and transmit reflected terahertz radiation from the second end of the waveguide to the first end of the waveguide, wherein the reflected terahertz radiation is a portion of the terahertz radiation reflected by the sample towards the second end of the waveguide. The system optics are configured to direct the terahertz radiation from a radiation source into the first end of the waveguide, isolate the reflected terahertz radiation from other radiation, and direct the reflected terahertz radiation from the first end of the waveguide to a terahertz radiation detector.
