It further relates to the use of guagatonga extract (Casearia silvestris) and aroeira extract (Schinus terebinthifolius raddi) in the preparation of a cosmetic composition for preventing and/or treating signs of skin aging, as well as the use of this composition for simultaneously increasing tropoelastin, increasing the lysyl exidase (LOX) enzyme and reducing the activity of elastase in the dermis. The invention relates to a method of preventing and/or treating signs of skin aging, which comprises applying said cosmetic composition to the skin. Finally, the invention relates to a method of preparing said composition according to the present invention.

In another embodiment, the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing polysaccharides obtained according to the process defined above and to the use of said polysaccharides.
