    Abstract: There is disclosed an aqueous suspension of a particulate calcium-containing filler in which the particles of filler are surface treated with a dispersing agent comprising an anionic polyelectrolyte, characterized in that said dispersing agent further comprises sufficient of a cationic polyelectrolyte to render the particles cationic. The aqueous suspension is useful in the manufacture of paper.
