Also included in the invention are methods of protecting or treating plants from corn rootworm, other insect and nematode infestations comprising applying to the plant an effective amount of the novel Bacillus strain, a supernatant obtained from a whole broth culture of the novel strain, the metabolite produced by the novel Bacillus strain, a composition comprising the novel strain or a combination thereof, optionally further comprising applying at least one additional biological or chemical pesticide.
