Abstract: A hair brush for use on animals or people has a planar base member with two major faces, the base member being formed with a plurality of shallow recesses on one of the faces. Two of the recesses are spaced from one another by an elongate area, and the base member is formed with at least one elongate groove on the other of the major faces of the base member. The groove is opposed to and parallel with the elongate area. Plural bristle plates are seated in respective recesses in the base member, each bristle plate exhibiting a multiplicity of prongs or tines. The bristle plates are substantially rigid at room temperature, while the base member is made of a material substantially more flexible at room temperature than the bristle plates.
