  • Patent number: 9826309
Abstract: An optimised method for driving a loudspeaker is used for protecting the loudspeaker from damage due to excessive excursion or from overheating. The playback power of an incoming audio data stream is compared with a feedback power derived from the loudspeaker actuator and the comparison is used to adjust the frequency response of the loudspeaker, across individual sub bands.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 21, 2017
Assignees: Dialog Semiconductor (UK) Limited, Dialog Semiconductor B.V.

  • Publication number: 20150134342
Abstract: The present document relates to the efficient processing of audio signals for enhancing the perceptual quality of the audio signal. An audio processing unit configured to generate an enhanced audio signal from an input audio signal is described. The input audio signal is sampled at a first sampling rate and the enhanced audio signal is sampled at a second sampling rate, wherein the second sampling rate is higher than the first sampling rate. The input audio signal comprises spectral content in a frequency range up to a first frequency and the enhanced audio signal comprises spectral content in a frequency range up to a second frequency, wherein the second frequency is higher than the first frequency. The audio processing unit comprises an upsampling and interpolation unit configured to generate an upsampled audio signal at the second sampling rate from the input audio signal.
