  • Publication number: 20240048033
Abstract: An induction motor with on-rotor slip power recovery may have a rotor and a stator element. The rotor element has a rotor winding system with a number of winding units wound-distributed for inducing a rotor magnetic field. Each winding unit has an induction and an augmentation subwinding. The induction subwinding has two legs of each a number of induction conductor segments. The induction subwinding induces an emf that drives a rotor current in the rotor winding system to generate a basic induction component for the rotor magnetic field when the induction conductor segments move in the stator element. The augmentation subwinding has two legs of each a number of augmentation conductor segments aligned parallel to the induction conductor segments. The augmentation subwinding being wound that the two legs of augmentation conductor segments are immediately next to each other and positioned mid-way between the two legs of induction conductor segments.

  • Publication number: 20110172042
Abstract: A self-tensioning belt drive for vehicle power train has pulley assembly that comprises a first and a second pulley means and a belt bearing means. First pulley means is fixed coaxial to the power shaft and has a first pitch setting means. Second pulley means is coaxially rotatable relative to the first and has a second pitch setting means. Belt bearing means maintains a gross bearing surface to bear the belt at a pitch by a cooperation with the two pitch setting means. Transmission of power loads the pulley assembly wherein the two pulley means and the belt bearing means all rotate together in the same direction at the same speed while the second pulley means is induced by the loading to rotate relative to the first in the opposite direction. The load-induced relative rotation increases the pitch by adjustment in the cooperation until fixed length of the belt allows no further relative movement between the two pulley means.

  • Patent number: 6346784
Abstract: A power transmission apparatus manipulates the transmission of power of the mechanical and/or electrical form. The power transmission apparatus is constructed integrating together a power-transmitting device and a transmission interaction redistributing mechanism. The interaction redistributing mechanism redistributes, or remaps, an optimized section of the operating speed range of the power-transmitting device onto the full operating speed range, including the stall speed, of the power transmission apparatus. Full operating speed range, including low speeds, is optimized. In a mechanical implementation of the apparatus, an epicyclic gear train is utilized as the redistributing mechanism. In an electromagnetic implementation of the apparatus, a rotary commutator is utilized as the redistributing mechanism and the power-transmitting device is an electromagnetic device. The mechanical implementation is capable of handling mechanical-to-mechanical mode of power transmission.
