  • Patent number: 11340335
Abstract: A vehicle that includes at least two LIDAR systems can process data from the two LIDAR systems in an interleaved manner such that data from only one of the two LIDAR systems during a given time period is processed, thereby reducing the computational load on a data processing system in the vehicle. For example, the data processing system can receive and process first LIDAR data captured by a first LIDAR system during a first time period and then receive and process second LIDAR data captured by a second LIDAR system during a second time period that follows the first time period; the data processing system, in one embodiment, does not process data from the second LIDAR system if available and captured by the second LIDAR system during the first time period.

  • Publication number: 20210123870
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed to diagnose and/or assembly a battery pack for a vehicle based on imaging techniques. For one embodiment, a system captures one or more image profiles of the battery pack, where the battery pack comprises a plurality of battery cell modules. The system retrieves one or more image profiles based on an identifier of the battery pack, where the one or more image profiles was previously captured for a battery pack as a reference. The system identifies abnormalities for the captured images in comparison with the reference. The system analyzes for abnormalities to identify any malfunctioning components in the battery pack.

  • Publication number: 20200258385
Abstract: Systems and methods to provide advanced detection of parking spot for a vehicle are described. Signals reflected from one or more objects are received using at least one of a plurality of sensors coupled to a vehicle. One or more images are generated based on the reflected signals. One or more empty spaces as candidates for one or more available parking spots for the vehicle are determined based on the one or more images. A map including the one or more available parking spots for the vehicle is generated.

  • Publication number: 20200216079
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for controlling operation of an autonomous vehicle based on driver operation profiles. The method may include capturing, from a plurality of vehicle systems, driver-vehicle interaction data from the plurality of vehicle systems indicative of a plurality of driving characteristics of a driver of the autonomous vehicle. The method may also include determining, by a processing system, when the driver-vehicle interaction data deviates from a driver operation profile stored in the memory. Furthermore, the method may include controlling, by the processing system operation of at least one system of the autonomous vehicle in response to determining that the driver-vehicle interaction data deviates from the driver operation profile.
