  • Publication number: 20110167066
Abstract: A content item review management apparatus (101) comprises a data store (209) which stores review data and content item characteristics for previously reviewed content items. A content item is received for review and content item characteristics, such as keywords, are determined for the content item. A match processor (207) matches the content item characteristic with content item characteristics of previously reviewed content items and stored review data is extracted based on the comparison. Initial review data for the content item is generated based on the extracted review data and a transmitter (215) transmits the initial review data to the source. The invention may allow review data estimating manually generated review data to be automatically generated.

  • Publication number: 20090222430
Abstract: A content recommender executes a method wherein a set of attributes are provided for a plurality of content items. A number of recommendation parameters are defined as a function of attribute values for a subset of attributes and for each content item, recommendation values are determined based on the definitions. A multi-dimensional clustering is applied to the recommendation values for the content items to generate a plurality of content clusters. Each dimension of the clustering corresponds to a recommendation parameter. The content recommender then selects a set of content clusters from the content clusters and a recommendation set of content items is generated by selecting at least one content item from each selected content cluster. The invention may allow improved recommendations to be generated and may in particular allow recommendations to be generated which reflect a number of different and possibly conflicting considerations.

  • Publication number: 20090106208
Abstract: An apparatus for content item annotation comprises an ontology processor (103) which generates a reduced ontology from a first ontology. The reduced ontology comprises a subset of concepts of the first ontology. An analysis processor (107) and an annotation processor (109) determine first annotation data for the content item by content analysis based on the reduced ontology. A monitoring processor (115) monitors usage of the first annotation data. A criterion processor (117) determines if the usage of the first annotation data meets a first criterion. If not, the ontology processor (103) generates a second ontology from the first ontology and the analysis processor (107) and the annotation processor (109) modifies the first annotation data in response to a content analysis based on the second ontology. The invention may allow a facilitated automatic annotation of content items with more efficient usage of the computational resource available for the annotation.

  • Publication number: 20090094642
Abstract: A communication device (6) for operating in a communication system (2) comprises a receiver (203) for receiving information from at least one information source (2) of the communication system and a display (206) coupled to the receiver for displaying information to a user of the communication device. The communication device (6) is arranged in operation and based on the received information to display on the display (206) at predetermined times system information specified by the communication system (2) with user information based on user preference data and at other times to display the user information without the system information.
