  • Publication number: 20130285767
Abstract: A band-pass filter made up by an operational amplifier and by an input circuit. The input circuit is formed by a capacitive filtering element, connected to the input of the operational amplifier; a coupling switch, coupled between an input node and the capacitive filtering element; a capacitive sampling element, coupled between the input of the filter and the input node; and a sampling switch, coupled between the input node and a reference-potential line. The coupling switch and the input sampling switch close in phase opposition according to a succession of undesired components sampling and sensing steps, so that the capacitive sampling element forms a sampler for sampling the undesired component in the undesired components sampling step, in the absence of the component of interest, and forms a subtractor of the undesired components from the input signal in the sensing step.

  • Publication number: 20110148468
Abstract: A threshold comparator with hysteresis includes a comparator circuit, having a first input, for receiving an input voltage, a second input, and an output, which supplies an output voltage having a first value and a second value. A current generator, controlled by the output voltage, supplies a current to the first input in the presence selectively of one between the first value and second value of the output voltage. A selector circuit connects the second input of the comparator circuit to a first reference voltage source, which supplies a first reference voltage, in response to first edges of the output voltage, and to a second reference voltage source, which supplies a second reference voltage, in response to second edges of the output voltage, opposite to the first edges.

  • Publication number: 20110140769
Abstract: A circuit for generating a reference electrical quantity, including: a first bipolar transistor and a second bipolar transistor having the base terminals connected to one another and to a common node; a first resistor connected to the emitter terminal of the second bipolar transistor; a first mirror circuit and a second mirror circuit connected to the first and second bipolar transistors, which receive, respectively, a first current and a second current and generate, respectively, a first mirrored current and a second mirrored current; a first output stage, which generates the reference electrical quantity as a function of the first and second mirrored currents; and a second resistor connected to the common node. The first current is a function of the current in the first resistor, whilst the second current is a function of the current in the second resistor.

  • Patent number: 6997903
Abstract: The present invention uses several innovative means in order to effectively puncture the intimal wall of blood vessels reliably and controllably. The total penetration of the needle is controlled by the height of the needle projecting from its base and the degree of penetration is controlled by the use of “cam” or similar means or mechanisms that moves the base containing the needles.

  • Patent number: 5158540
Abstract: A low-profile angioplasty catheter is disclosed which is insertable through a guiding catheter. The angioplasty catheter has two balloons. The distal balloon dilates the stenosis. The proximal balloon is separately inflatable and selectively closes the annular passage between the angioplasty catheter and the guiding catheter. The angioplasty catheter has a central lumen with a series of openings allowing fluid communication from the central lumen into the annular passage proximally of the balloon which seals the annular passage. While the first balloon is inflated to dilate the stenosis, blood can be withdrawn from an arterial source through a lumen (or plurality thereof) in the guiding catheter and pumped into the annular passage between the angioplasty catheter and the guiding catheter.

  • Patent number: 5066282
Abstract: The invention is a disposable, positive-displacement piston pump, having a polycarbonate body, a piston, an inlet valve, and an outlet valve. The outlet valve is connected to an exit chamber, which is separated from the exit valve by an elastomeric membrane. The elastomeric membrane encloses an accumulation chamber which is filled with a fluid such as air under atmospheric pressure. Pulsations in outlet pressure caused by stroking of the piston are dampened by the flexing action of the elastomeric membrane, compressing the fluid within the accumulator chamber. The throw out of the pump is pressure-dampened and is of sufficient pressure to flow through very low-profile angioplasty catheters having perfusion lumens extending therethrough. The combination of the pump with a very low-profile balloon angioplasty catheter allows access of the catheter to a constricted passage with the ability to pump a sufficient volume of blood through such a low-profile catheter during balloon inflations.

  • Patent number: 4921483
Abstract: An angioplasty catheter has an elongated body with at least one lumen extending therethrough. A tip, constructed of materials softer than the elongated body is attached to the distal end of the body. The tip segment has at least one lumen passing therethrough which is in alignment withthe lumen in the elongated body. A guide is adapted to pass through the aligned lumens. A balloon is connected to the distal segment of the elongated body over its outer periphery, thereby creating a balloon cavity therebetween. At least one additional lumen is provided in the elongated body in flow communication with the balloon cavity, for selective inflation and deflation thereof, with a contrast fluid.

  • Patent number: 4884573
Abstract: A very low profile balloon catheter is disclosed that allows for an independently movable, steerable and removable guidewire. After removal of the guidewire, the balloon catheter retains adequately angiographic and hemodynamic characteristics. Such catheter construction allows for exchange of guidewires. A tracking mechanical device is included and provides excellent and easy advancement of the balloon catheter through severe obstructions.
