Patent number: 9321308Abstract: A wheel hub bearing unit including a plurality of rolling bodies disposed between annular elements. One of the annular elements is a rotating element that includes a spindle on a side facing the outboard side of the vehicle having a mounting flange adapted to receive a vehicle wheel. A frontal surface of the mounting flange is covered by a layer of UV photopolimerizable synthetic plastic material having a predetermined thickness deposited on the frontal surface of the flange in the non-polimerized state by a mixed air spraying nozzle, by rotating the wheel hub bearing unit about a symmetry axis thereof with the nozzle arranged at a radial distance from a peripherally outer edge of the flange, and has a spraying axis which forms, with the symmetry axis, an angle from 20° to 80°; the synthetic plastic material being sprayed by the nozzle at a temperature higher than the room temperature.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2014Date of Patent: April 26, 2016Assignee: AKTIEBOLAGET SKFInventors: Paolo Baratti, Andrea Serafini

Patent number: 7895124Abstract: A method for protecting sensitive data during execution time. The sensitive data are normally stored on permanent storage devices (e.g. a hard disk). The method, according to the present invention is based on the creation at system boot of a runtime process and a corresponding runtime memory space. The sensitive data are then moved to the runtime memory space and the copy on the storage device is deleted or made unusable by users. At shutdown time the sensitive data are copied back to the storage device according to the uptodate version on the runtime memory. In particular the present invention is applied to a license management system which allows nodelocked licenses on client system even if the client is disconnected from the network. License information are considered sensitive data which should be protected during execution. A device driver is created at system boot time and a kernel cache memory is allocated to the driver.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2005Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Paolo Baratti, Alice Guidotti

Patent number: 6574612Abstract: A method and system for providing flexibility to a license management system. A license management system permits the concurrent use of n copies of a software program over a network comprising a plurality of client workstations, each client workstation having a copy of the software program installed thereon requiring an authorization from one of a plurality of S license servers each time the software program is used. For security reasons, the license management system requires that at least the integer majority of the plurality of license servers is active at any time. The method and system allow to change the number of license servers, but impose the following limit: taken s1 and s2 respectively as the minimum and the maximum number of servers that may belong to the cluster, the sum of the integer majority of s1 and of the integer majority of s2 must be strictly greater than s2.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1999Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Paolo Baratti, Paolo Squartini
