  • Publication number: 20230224075
Abstract: Methods for the distributed reception of receivers without significantly increasing the performance requirements of the system. In particular, this object is achieved by a method which is able to strongly improve the quality of the individual samples and thus of the signal emitted by the network in a receiver network with low complexity, without requiring a central coordinator, by means of a continuous, receiver-internal, independent combination of the received data through separate antennas, or which is able to increase the spatial coverage per receiver while maintaining the same quality of wireless transmission rates per microphone, as well as realize every scenario lying in between these extremes.

  • Patent number: 11415612
Abstract: A complex dielectric sensor includes at least two voltage dividers to measure voltage amplitudes in a circuit of at least two impedances connected to a transducer probe. The impedances are configured to reduce amplification of raw error using relatively simple geometric calculations based on mapping the voltage amplitudes as a pair of intersecting circles in a complex admittance space. Instrument sensitivity can be optimized by selecting impedances with moduli in the complex admittance space that are similar in magnitude to the modulus of the sample admittance and by selecting impedances that cause characteristic directions of the voltage dividers (relative to the sample admittance in the complex admittance space) to be oriented as close to perpendicular to each other as possible.

Date of Patent: August 16, 2022
    Assignee: METER GROUP, INC. USA
Inventors: Paolo Castiglione, Gaylon S. Campbell

  • Patent number: 9928841
Abstract: A method of packet loss concealment in an adaptive differential pulse-code modulation (ADPCM) codec with a packet loss compensation (PLC) circuit is provided. The method provides a predetermined transition period between a correct signal (xdec) and a substitute signal (xPLC) and a difference (dPLC,m) between the substitute signal (xPLC,m) and a computed prediction signal (xpred,m) is combined with a dequantized prediction error (ddec,m) to receive a dequantized combined prediction error (dcomb,m) which is added to a predicted signal (xpred,m,) to provide a combined transition signal (xcomb,m) as basis for an output signal (xout?xcomb) during the predetermined transition period for adapting all decoder parameters.
