Abstract: An enlarged table top is secured to a supporting structure disposed under the top for supportive engagement with a floor. The supporting structure includes a beam which extends longitudinally of the top directly adjacent the underside for fixed securement thereto. The beam is defined by a pair of elongate but sidewardly spaced tubular beam members which are rigidly joined together. An upright leg structure is provided adjacent at least one end of the table and includes a pair of upright but sidewardly spaced leg members having upper ends which are disposed adjacent the ends of the beam elements. A removable bracket includes opposed bracket parts which clamp the leg members therebetween, and one of the bracket parts has cantilevered support rods which telescope into the adjacent ends of the beam members for fixed securement thereto.

Abstract: A chair with a pivoting backrest includes resilient leaves which cooperate with limbs for supporting the backrest to oppose the pivoting of the backrest towards its pivoted-back position.

Abstract: A powered desk is described. The desk has a work surface supported by a base consisting of a pair of generally vertical support members connected by an elongate, generally horizontal structural member which has a hollow interior. The ends of the structural member are mounted in annular openings formed in the vertical support members, with end faces exposed and accessible. Electrical connectors are mounted in the opposing end faces and are connected by electrical wiring extending through the interior of the structural member, whereby electric power or signals can be transferred across the full length of the desk and coupled by a suitable jumper to a similar desk. Additionally, electrical connectors are mounted along the surface of the structural member intermediate of the end faces, and tap into the contained electrical wiring to make electric power, telephone signals and other electrically transferred information available at the desk.

Abstract: A plastic adjustable chair having a base section which has a central base column and integral legs radiating therefrom, all of molded plastic, and a seat section having a seat shell of molded plastic tiltably mounted on a plastic seat column. The seat column is pivotally mounted on the base column by a gas cylinder. A plastic backrest column is pivotally mounted on the seat shell and is adjustable with a gas cylinder. A plastic backrest shell can slide vertically on the backrest column, controlled by a flexible plastic locking lever. Upholstered plastic back and seat cushions can be snapped onto the back and seat shells or removed for reupholstery or cleaning. Plastic arms bolt onto the underside of the seat shell for easy removal, and plastic castors can be snapped into or removed from the legs.
