  • Patent number: 4297233
Abstract: A deodorizing composition, particularly for use in ash trays, in direct contact with the butts of cigarettes and cigars, comprising a granular absorbent substance which is incombustible at the combustion temperature of the glowing fire of the cigarettes or the like, containing absorbed therein an oily vapor diffuser substance. Advantageously, the absorbent substance is porous silica, having a grain size of 20 to 60 mesh per square centimeter, and an absorptive power of up to 1 part by weight of absorbed oily substance per part by weight of absorbing granular substance.

  • Patent number: 4154398
Abstract: The deodorizer device consists of a top piece, shaped as an ashtray, and presenting on its lower side, below the ash-carrying bowl, a downwardly directed flange, into which flange there can be fitted a cup-shaped bottom piece inside which there is placed the deodorizer cake. Both the flange of the top piece and the side wall of the bottom piece present apertures that can be brought in or out of register, thus permitting or stopping the deodorizing activity of the gel cake which is at the interior of the cavity defined by the cup-shaped bottom piece fitted inside the flange of the ashtray-shaped top piece.
