  • Publication number: 20230158912
Abstract: An apparatus and method of determining relative position of a ground coil and a vehicle coil, enabling an electric vehicle to be guided to a position at which energy is transferable between the ground and vehicle coils. Position signaling devices are mountable relative to the ground and vehicle coils. At least one signaling device is associated with one of the coils and two or more signaling devices are associated with the other of the coils. Each signaling device is able to transmit or receive, or transmit and receive positioning signals for or from other ones of the signaling devices. The positioning signals are processed to obtain time-related information. The time-related information is obtained using at least two positioning protocols from a set of protocols. This enables determination of distances between the signaling devices and thus the relative position of the ground and vehicle coils.

  • Publication number: 20230027715
Abstract: In an inductive charging system energy is transferred via a magnetic field. An object detection apparatus for an inductive charging system comprises: a transmitter configured to transmit a signal; a receiver having a field of view including a substantial portion of the magnetic field, the receiver configured to receive within the field of view a reflected signal of the signal; and a signal processor configured to examine characteristics of the received, reflected signal to identify a hazard condition in relation to the magnetic field. By converting the received signal into a frequency domain signal, hazard conditions may be identified depending on the form of the frequency domain signal. The object detection apparatus is suitable for use in a charging apparatus for an electric vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10928194
Abstract: Method for self-recognition, by a probe, of a communication protocol to be used to communicate with a base station (7), the probe (4) being configured to emulate a plurality of communication protocols featuring respective activation procedures. Each activation procedure allows the base station to activate the probe to perform a checking cycle. According to the method, in consequence of a command given by a user by means of hardware interfaces (5,15,16) of the probe, the probe is set in a search state (100-105) where all the activation procedures are attempted and it is identified which of the activation procedures is completed positively. Then, the probe is switched to an operative state (201-205) based on the communication protocol featuring the identified activation procedure. Preferably, the activation procedure is identified after a predetermined number (N) of positive conclusions have occurred.

  • Patent number: 9325130
Abstract: A distributor is proposed, comprising a power connection having a plug (1) and being connected to at least two socket connectors (3) via an electric conductor (2). In order to provide the highest level of variability concerning the extension length it is proposed that the socket connectors (3) are associated with separate sockets (4) which can be detachably interconnected or detachably connected to a housing (6) and which are each connected one to the other or to the housing (6) by an extension lead (5).

  • Patent number: 5259825
Abstract: The machine comprises: a first assembly (2) with receiving, pressure and feed elements (3, 5), through which the part-finished item is fed, and downstream of these two elements a first folder roller (9) with a line of bristles, for folding and glueing the first front flap, and a pair of pressure rollers; a second assembly (20) with receiving, pressure and feed elements in the opposite direction, with a second folder roller (29) and a pair of pressure rollers (39) for folding the second flap, now the front flap; downstream of the second assembly (20) there is an assembly (219) with a transverse conveyor (320) for moving the part-finished item in two opposite directions (fC, fD), with two assemblies (220, 222) for successively folding and glueing the remaining two flaps of the paper.

  • Patent number: 5230687
Abstract: The machine is used to fold and glue paper covering borders onto cardboard or other materials and includes a folding element (9) with a symmetrical row of bristles for folding and gluing the borders passing through in both directions and capable of acting alternately in the two opposite directions; and, on both sides of the mechanism, symmetrical receiving, pressing and advancing elements (1, 3, 5, 7; 21, 25, 27), between which the semi-finished article is fed in a first direction of advance (fA) which is orthogonal to one side of the semi-finished article, and which are capable of operating alternately in two opposite directions (fA, fB) to carry out the folding of the two parallel and opposite borders of the article; a single article may be inserted twice in orientations orthogonal to each other for the folding of the four borders.
