  • Publication number: 20210029635
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

  • Publication number: 20200366440
Abstract: Long term evolution (LTE) common reference signal (CRS)-assisted new radio (NR) tracking operations are disclosed. A user equipment (UE) may obtain a colocation indication identifying a quasi-colocation (QCL) status of a legacy network downlink antenna associated with one or more cell-specific reference signal (CRS) resource elements (REs) and an advanced network downlink antenna in communication with the UE. The UE may then perform a tracking loop operation for the advanced network using the one or more CRS REs of the legacy network in response to the QCL status indicating a QCL state, wherein the QCL state indicates the legacy network downlink antenna is quasi-colocated with the advanced network downlink antenna.

  • Publication number: 20180139758
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus select a code book based on channel conditions and performance of a demodulator or demapper in a wireless receiver. The method may include determining that the receiver in a first wireless communication apparatus is configured for iteratively processing signals received from a channel, selecting a code book for use in communicating over the channel based on conditions affecting transmission of the signals through the channel and performance information associated with a demapper in the receiver, and identifying the selected code book in one or more control channels transmitted to a second wireless communication apparatus.
