Each wall is perpendicular to the two contiguous walls and comprises at least one laminar portion that constitutes a resting surface: at least one of the walls comprises at least one locking element for at least one component, selected from between an upper pillow and a covering shell, arranged on a respective laminar portion; at least one of the walls comprises at least two bands that are mutually aligned and can slide with respect to each other in order to vary the overall length of the wall; a linear actuator is interposed between the at least two bands of the wall, for the controlled mutual sliding of the bands; the actuator being adapted to be controlled by a respective control and management unit of a sewing machine that is functionally associatable with the frame.

The mattress comprises, along at least one portion of a perimetric lateral band of the case, at least one ribbon, which is stably associated with the respective portion, along connecting lines which are not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ribbon. Between the ribbon, the portion of the perimetric lateral band of the case and the connecting lines there is at least one seat which is adapted to accommodate respective grip elements, including the fingers of an operator, during the transport of the mattress.

Abstract: A method for packaging a mattress in a package, comprising: retaining, in a first step of operation, a fixing element below a resting surface and causing the advancement of a mattress from a first conveyor toward a second conveyor for producing the wrapping of a sheet in a loop around the mattress and the perimetric closure by heat-sealing and cutting of the sheet and the formation of a first wrapping, which is separate from the sheet unwound from the reel, lifting, in a second step, the sheet fixing element above the resting surface and transferring the mattress onto the advancement conveyor, returning, in a third step, the fixing element below the resting surface and in a fourth step, producing the advancement of the mattress on the second receiving and transfer conveyor in order to wrap a second sheet around the first wrapping and perform consequent heat-sealing and cutting of the sheet, forming a second wrapping that is separate from the first one.
