  • Patent number: 7497571
Abstract: A frame for eyeglasses comprising a lens supporting structure (12) and two temples (13) each connected laterally to said lens supporting structure (12) by means of a hinge device (14). According to the invention, said hinge device (14) comprises a first magnetic element (15) applied integral with said lens supporting structure (12) and a second magnetic element (16) applied integral with said temples (13), said first and said second magnetic element (15, 16) being engaged with each other to allow relative movement between said temples (13) and said lens supporting structure (12).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 29, 2003
Date of Patent: March 3, 2009
    Assignee: Optigen Optical Group, S.r.l.

  • Patent number: 6565207
Abstract: Spectacle frames having one or more components such as a bridge, nose rests and ear pieces of martensitic NiTi, NiTi nobium, NiTi iron alloy made by means of plastic deformation starting from a 20% work hardening raised by hammering up to 50% so that the final section of the material so treated maintains, within a range of temperatures from −50° C. to +70° C., sufficient elasticity and flexibility for adaptating the frames to the different facial forms of users.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 9, 2001
Date of Patent: May 20, 2003
    Assignee: Optigen S.r.l.

  • Patent number: 6511174
Abstract: An eyeglass support temple (14) comprising at least one first rod (13), made out of shape memory alloy or any other highly elastic alloy which is difficult to weld, which at one of its ends carries a hinge (17) for the connection to a frame of a pair of glasses. Another end portion of the first rod (13) is inserted and locked in a bush (15) integral with a second rod (12), made out of ductile material, where at least one portion of such a second rod (12) is shaped so as to match the shape of the human ear. The temple (14) is realised through a process which comprises a step in which an end portion (16) of a first rod (13) is inserted into a bush (15), a subsequent step in which the bush (15) is pressed onto the first rod (13) so as to realise the coupling between the first rod (13) and the second rod (12), and a further step in which a portion of the second rod (12) is shaped, so as match the shape of the human ear.
