    Abstract: A renal failure therapy system having an electrically floating fluid pathway is disclosed. The example system includes a dialyzer, a blood circuit in fluid communication with the dialyzer, and a dialysis fluid circuit in fluid communication with the dialyzer. The system also includes an electrically floating fluid pathway comprising at least a portion of the blood circuit and at least a portion of the dialysis fluid circuit. The only electrical path to ground is via used dialysis fluid traveling through the renal failure therapy system to earth ground. The disclosed system enables at least one electrical component in the at least a portion of the dialysis fluid circuit of the electrically floating fluid pathway to be electrically bypassed.

    Abstract: A medical device system includes renal failure therapy machines each including a memory. The renal failure therapy machines are communicatively coupled such that the memories collectively form a distributed database. The system also includes a logic implementer associated with each renal failure therapy machine. Each logic implementer is programmed to automatically access the distributed database, so that each renal failure therapy machine periodically delivers prescription input parameters and/or treatment output data to at least one of the other renal failure therapy machines, and retrieves prescription input parameters and/or treatment output data from at least one of the other renal failure therapy machines. One of the renal failure therapy machines is configured to create at least one treatment record trend from the treatment output data and to share the at least one treatment record trend with other renal failure therapy machines through the distributed database.

    Abstract: PD-cycler and tube set therefor and a method for use thereof. The tube set includes a transfer member for automatic transfer of possibly remaining contents in supply bags or heater bags of the tube set to a waste receiver. A separate connection unit is arranged in connection with a valve pack of the PD-cycler. The connection unit has a rod of ferromagnetic material which allows an indication that the tube set is in the correct position. The beater and drain bags are combined into a double bag which is supported by a yoke in a folded state, which is unfolded upon application into the PD-cycler.
