  • Patent number: 5288448
Abstract: The present invention includes of a method for producing a cross sectionally tetragonal tube package for flowable substances, in particular milk and juices. A carrier material (12) coated with synthetic plastic is cut longitudinally and horizontally through to center (35) and then shaped to form two welds (13,14) which made up the relevant tube (1) of the package. The stepped edge (10) of each web (13,14) serves as the top-end edge (10,16) of the tube (1), the blank (I) of which is separated form the web (13,14) by (at 41) parting it in transverse relationship to their direction of movement (15), the blank being provided with a longitudinal sealing seam for formation of the tube. At the top end of the tube (1), there are formed extensions of oppositely disposed side walls (3,5) and projecting wall panels (8,9) which are folded over into the surface of the top (7), the top (7) being integrally moulded on the free edge (10) of the wall panel ( 8,9) and the adjacent stepped end edge (10).

  • Patent number: 5154342
Abstract: A liquids package is described which comprises a tube (1) comprising side walls (3-6) connected to one another by a longitudinal sealing seam (2) and consisting of synthetic plastics coated paper. The package is provided with a synthetic plastics top injection moulded onto one end of the tube (1).In order to provide greater dimensional accuracy in the top portion of such a package with favorable properties with regard to sealing-tightness and ease of opening, it is envisaged that the tube (1) be at its top end and on at least two oppositely disposed edges (11, 11') extended by respective wall panels (8, 9, 8', 9') which extend at an angle from the side wall (3, 5), the top being integrally moulded on that edge (10) thereof which is towards the center of the top.

  • Patent number: 5029752
Abstract: A package for milk is described which consists of a tube (1) forming the side walls (2, 3) and having a top (4) and a bottom of which the top (4) comprises at least one folded-over wall panel (5 to 8) constructed in one piece with the tube (1), an opening device (14) being provided within the top (4).According to the invention, it is suggested that the pourer orifice be closed by a tab which can be torn open along a line of weakness (18) and which has an integrally moulded handle of synthetic plastics material, the line of weakness (18) extending as far as the outer edge (12) of the top (4) where it ends in or adjacent to a hole in the wall panel (5, 8) of the top (4) engaging around, connected to the handle, a cord (11) which projects inwardly from the surface of the top (4) which is towards the interior of the package, extending outwardly through the hole and being lengthened by the handle.

  • Patent number: 4334437
Abstract: When a machine element having a large mass is given a reciprocating movement, the recurring changes in speed as well as direction of movement require that very great driving forces must be applied, which cause varying stresses on the driving unit. In case the movement path of the machine element is more or less vertical the force of gravity causes extra stresses on the machine element. These difficulties are overcome in accordance with the invention by providing a spring system which on the one hand equalizes the effect of the force of gravity on the machine element and, on the other hand compensates the arising mass forces by absorbing, storing and emitting energy following the movement of the machine element. Hereby the amount of applied driving force is reduced, so that shocks and vibrations occurring during the driving are effectively reduced.

  • Patent number: 4301696
Abstract: When machine elements having a large mass are indexed, i.e. subjected to short, quick rotating movements, very great acceleration and deceleration forces must be transmitted via the driving means of the machine. Due to vibrations occurring, increasing the stresses on the driving means, the driving means must be dimensioned accordingly. The present invention provides a method and an arrangement for the compensation of the forces applied and thus for reducing the stresses which occur. This is performed by combining the indexing machine element with a cam disc which is contacted by a number of spring-loaded cam followers, whereby the cam disc has such a shape that the cam follower decelerates and accelerates the cam disc following the desired movement pattern of the machine element.

  • Patent number: 4222417
Abstract: A filler pipe for filling containers of a packing machine includes a nozzle part having an elongated base plate. One side of the base plate has a plurality of guide vanes which together with the base plate and a material forming a portion of the containers will provide filling channels for a fluid. The guide vanes may be straight or curved and may be arranged so as to lie at a periphery of the base plate. The base plate may preferably have a triangular shape with a generally decreasing width. In another embodiment of the present invention, a distribution chamber is provided beneath the base plate with a plurality of holes in the base plate permitting communication between the distribution chamber and the filling channels. In this embodiment, the base plate is preferably rectangular in shape with the guide vanes extending completely across the base plate.
