    Abstract: A shifting device for a transmission is disclosed. The shifting device comprises a transmission shaft, a shift gear being mounted thereon, wherein the shift gear is configured with a connecting hub which is axially displaceable relative to the transmission shaft, wherein the connecting hub has an internal toothing in engagement with an external toothing of the transmission shaft, so that the shift gear is drive-connected to the transmission shaft in an axially displaceable manner therewith. A latching device is further provided, the shift gear being axially displaceable thereby into a plurality of latching positions. The latching device comprises a spring-pretensioned setting pin displaceably mounted radially to the transmission shaft and in engagement with a setting shaft rotatably mounted in the transmission shaft, such that the setting shaft and the setting pin can be brought out of an unlocked position into a locked position and vice-versa by rotating the setting shaft.

    Abstract: A cutting assembly for an agricultural harvesting head is provided. The cutting assembly includes a first cutterbar, a second cutterbar, and a knife drive gearbox configured to drive linear reciprocating motion of the first cutterbar and the second cutterbar. The gearbox includes a cam shaft extending along a rotational axis from a first end to a second end. The cam shaft includes a first cam follower groove located near the first end and a second cam follower groove located near the second end. The gearbox further includes a drive mechanism, a first output shaft coupled to a first cam follower that travels in the first cam follower groove, and a second output shaft coupled to a second cam follower that travels in the second cam follower groove. The first output shaft is coupled to the first cutterbar and the second output shaft is coupled to the second cutterbar.

    Abstract: A method of operating a sapling hydrating system for a planting apparatus. The method comprising determining a release pressure of hydrating fluid for a release valve to hydrate a sapling based on a target distribution rate of the hydrating fluid, wherein the target distribution rate is received via an input signal. The method further comprising controlling a supply pressure of the hydrating fluid from a pump to be greater than or equal to the release pressure, and controlling an unloading valve fluidly disposed between the pump and a hydrating fluid storage tank. The unloading valve regulating a maximum supply pressure. The method further includes controlling the release valve to provide a first portion of the hydraulic fluid to the release valve at an unloading pressure greater than or equal to the release pressure, and directing the remainder of the hydrating fluid back to the storage tank.
