  • Publication number: 20160379410
Abstract: A method for operating an augmented reality system includes acquiring video data from a camera sensor or video file, and identifying at least one region of interest within the video data. Augmented reality data is generated for the region of interest without receiving user input, with the augmented reality data being contextually related to the region of interest. The video data may be displayed with the augmented reality data superimposed thereupon in real time as the video data is acquired from the camera sensor or video file. The video data and the augmented reality data are stored in a non-conflated fashion. The video data may be displayed with updated AR content acquired for stored AR metadata during later playback. The method therefore allows the storage of AR ROI's and data from any suitable sensor as metadata, so that later retrieval is possible in the absence of additional processing.

  • Patent number: 9432286
Abstract: Exemplary methods for upgrading route processor virtual machines (RP VMs) and line card virtual machines (LC VMs) include upgrading a second RP VM serving as a standby RPVM with a new RP VM image. The methods further include spawning, using a new LC VM image, a second set of LC VMs to serve as standby LC VMs. The methods also include performing incubation of standby VMs, by configuring a switch to forward data traffic to both the first and second set of LC VMs, thereby allowing system states of the standby VMs to be auto-populated by the data traffic. The methods further include, after the incubation has completed, swapping roles of VMs at the virtual router, such that data traffic are exchanged only between the switch and the upgraded VMs.

  • Publication number: 20150109408
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method for capturing and rendering a landscape image such that the field of view of the captured image remains consistent across any orientation maintained by the camera device at the time the image is captured. The retained field of view corresponds to the maximum landscape field of view achievable from the aspect ratio of the image when captured by the device, when the device is positioned in portrait orientation. Thus, the field of view of a landscape image captured when the camera device is positioned in landscape orientation is identical to the field of view of a landscape image captured when the device is positioned in portrait orientation. Furthermore, the system and method provide for a consistent field of view at the time of playback regardless of whether the captured image is displayed on a device having a portrait or landscape display orientation.
