  • Patent number: 9414658
Abstract: An integrally molded one-piece carrying handbag of flexible plastics material and its method of manufacture are described. The integrally molded plastic handbag has a containment space defined by a bottom wall and a circumferential sidewall with carrying straps integrally molded in a top edge of opposed sections of the sidewall. A latch tab is also integrally formed with one of the opposed sides sections of the sidewall and has a fastener formation projecting adjacent a free end thereof. A fastener hole is provided in the other of the side sections for receiving the fastener formation to partially close the open top end of the containment space. In a preferred embodiment gusset formations are formed in opposed top ends of end wall sections of the circumferential side wall of the containment space.

  • Patent number: 7600884
Abstract: A motion activated light circuit is comprised of a motion activatable switch which effects switch closures upon displacement thereof for connecting a supply voltage to a pulse generator circuit which generates a predetermined pulse length to provide a control signal at an output thereof. An oscillator circuit is coupled to the control signal of the pulse generator circuit to produce light actuating pulses to feed one of two or more independent light circuits through a light source selection switch. The light source selection switch is conditioned by a sensor which senses ambient light intensity whereby the light actuating pulses are directed to a selected one of the two or more independent light circuits to cause the selected light circuit to generate light pulses.

  • Publication number: 20090013555
Abstract: A waterproof safety article of footwear and preferably, but not exclusively, constructed with an outer shell formed from EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) material, is described. It is comprised of an outer boot shell formed of waterproof material capable of being injection molded and an inner protective boot liner which is positioned inside the boot shell. The protective liner has a puncture proof insert, preferably a toe cap and sole plate secured thereto. The outer shell can also be molded from TPR (thermoplastic rubber) material. In order to achieve a maximum light weight safety article of footwear, the protective liner has a toe cap and a sole plate formed from composite materials and the outer shell is molded from EVA material. The method of constructing the waterproof safety article of footwear is also described.

  • Publication number: 20080216361
Abstract: A light weight boot comprising an injected shell formed from EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) and having a sole and a heel portion. At least one of the sole and heel portions has a substantial portion of an outer surface thereof provided with a patterned ground-contacting pad adhesively secured thereto. The patterned ground-contacting pad is formed from one of TPR (thermoplastic rubber), rubber or PU whereby to provide a non-slip, light weight and flexible wear resistant ground contacting surface for the boot.

  • Publication number: 20080104777
Abstract: A method of constructing an article of footwear having a molded integrated vamp and sole is described. The method comprises molding the integrated vamp and sole with an external cavity formed in an exterior surface of a heel portion of the integrated vamp and sole. A plug is formed for close fit in the cavity. The plug has inner and outer surfaces and a contour side wall. In one embodiment of assembly, a heat reactive glue is applied to a bottom surface of the cavity and the inner surface of the plug, and at least a portion of the heel portion, having the cavity, and the plug are heated whereby to soften the glue to effect a bond between the bottom surface of the cavity and the inner surface of the plug when the plug is placed in the cavity with the inner surface of the plug facing the bottom surface of the cavity. Pressure is applied across the heel portion and the plug to bond the plug in the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20070205535
Abstract: A method of injection molding an article of footwear having a sole and an upper with the sole having a ball section and heel section, the heel section having a circuit capsule encapsulated therein. The circuit capsule is provided with LEDs to generate light beams through the heel of the article of footwear. The method comprises injection molding the sole with a peripheral upwardly extending side wall and then positioning an upper support mold with a sock upper at a predetermined position relative to the sole molded on a female mold. A hot liquid molding material is injected in a vamp forming cavity formed between the female mold and the upper support mold as well as in a capsule sealing cavity formed between a bottom wall of the upper support mold and the heel section of the sole whereby to interconnect the sole and the upper and simultaneously seal the circuit capsule in a capsule locating cavity within the heel portion of the sole.
