Abstract: In a plasma display apparatus, as a filter comprises a dark-colored part, contrast characteristics are improved and as palladium (Pd) is comprised in an electromagnetic wave shielding layer of the filter, a manufacturing cost can be reduced. The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel that displays an image; a plasma display panel that displays an image; and a filter provided to a front of the plasma display panel; the filter comprises: a substrate; a metal layer formed on the substrate; a base layer formed on the substrate; and a dark-colored part provided to the base layer, wherein a traveling direction of the dark-colored part has a angle from 5° to 80° on the basis of the bottom of the base layer.
