    Abstract: A fluid pump includes an inlet; an outlet; a motor; and an impeller rotated by the motor about an axis, the impeller being positioned axially between an inlet plate and an outlet plate. The inlet plate includes a channel that receives fluid from the inlet, the channel being defined by an inner wall and an outer wall. The channel has a first region extending over an angle of at least 150° and a second region extending from the first region over an angle of 61.8° to 71.8°. The inner wall has a first radius centered about the axis which is constant over the first region and the second region. The outer wall has a second radius centered about the axis which is constant over the first region and also has a third radius not centered about the axis which is constant over the second region.

The fluid pump also includes an impeller having a first array of blades radially surrounding the axis and a second array of blades radially surrounding the first array of blades. The fluid pump also includes an inlet plate adjacent to the impeller and has an inlet for introducing fluid into the fluid pump, a first inlet plate flow channel aligned with the first array of blades and having a first inlet plate flow channel cross-sectional area, and a second inlet plate flow channel aligned with the second array of blades and having a second inlet plate flow channel cross-sectional area. The second inlet plate flow channel cross-sectional area is synchronized with the first inlet plate flow channel cross-sectional area.

The check valve also includes a valve member disposed in the valve housing and having a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fuel from flowing through the outlet member and an open position to allow fuel to flow through the outlet member. The valve housing has a vortex abating geometry located near the valve seat to add turbulence to fluid flow past the valve seat when the valve member is in the open position.

The valve member has a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fluid from flowing into the at least one cavity and an open position to disengage the valve seat to allow fluid to flow into the at least one cavity. The pressure regulator assembly further includes a biasing mechanism disposed in the at least one cavity to bias the valve member toward the valve seat to close the aperture. The valve seat and the valve member and the biasing mechanism are aligned linearly along an axis of the valve housing.
