In some implementations, the method includes detecting, by the device, a first event associated with a first time that occurs after a current time. In some implementations, the method includes identifying, by the device, a first content item from the plurality of content items based on the engagement data. In some implementations, the first content item satisfies an engagement criterion associated with the first event. In some implementations, the method includes rendering, by the device, the first content item at a second time that occurs prior to the first time.
