  • Patent number: 9120064
Abstract: The invention is a distributor tray for a column (1) for heat and/or material exchange between a gas (G) and a liquid (L), comprising at least one means providing passage of the gas through the tray (2). The means has at least one chimney (4), defining on the surface of the tray (2) compartments (8) of substantially identical surface areas. Each compartment comprises at least one means (5) allowing passage of the liquid through the tray (2). The invention also has application to a gas/liquid contact column, a gas treatment unit, a CO2 capture unit, a distillation unit, an offshore floating barge comprising such a distributor tray and a method of manufacturing the tray.

  • Publication number: 20150238926
Abstract: The packing consists of a pile of plates comprising corrugations forming a succession of channels comprising fins, each fin being made up of at least one band cut out in one of the plates and remaining secured to the plate on at least one side, the band being deformed so as to create an orifice forming a discontinuity on the surface of the plate, wherein the direction of the channels of a plate forms a non-zero angle with respect to the direction of the edges of an adjacent plate. Finally, the lengths of the fins of a channel are different from those of the fins of a neighbouring channel.

  • Patent number: 8646758
Abstract: The invention is a method of formation and a structured packing for a fluid exchange column, which defines an exchange surface for at least one descending liquid phase to be placed in intimate contact with at least one ascending gaseous phase. The packing comprises a stack of plates having undulations, each plate being contained in a space included between two parallel planes L1 and L2 separated by a value of between 5 and 50 mm. The undulations are distributed on both sides of a center plane P separating the space into two equal parts and form a series of channels which extend along a direction D. The channels comprise wings contained in the space included between the two parallel planes. Each wing is composed of a strip B punched out in one of the channels according to at least two grooves C1 and C2. The width of the strip between the two grooves is between 1 and 15 mm.

  • Publication number: 20130277868
Abstract: The invention is a distributor tray for a column (1) for heating and/or material exchange between a gas (G) and a liquid (L), comprising at least one wall (6) defining compartments (8) on one of the surfaces of the tray. The walls are perforated (7) to allow part of the liquid to flow between compartments (8). Each compartment comprise at least one means (5) providing passage of the liquid through the tray and at least one means providing passage of the gas through the tray. The invention also relates to a gas/liquid contact column, a gas treatment unit, a CO2 capture unit, a distillation unit, and an offshore floating barge comprising the distributor tray.

  • Patent number: 8505884
Abstract: A packing structure according to the invention for a fluid contacting column forms a volume comprising an ordered arrangement of bundles of tubes of diameter ranging between 5 and 50 mm. The walls of the tubes comprise orifices which promote circulation and mixes fluids in the structure. The orifices are inscribed in rectangles whose sides range between 2 and 45 mm, and each one of the orifices extends over a surface area greater than 2 mm2.
