The second axial portion defines a second free end and has an outer surface, an inner surface, and an end-wall surface defined by an end-wall generatrix. The inner surface is of a shape that flares towards the second free end and is defined by an inner generatrix different from the end-wall generatrix. The endpiece is applicable to transmission shafts in motor vehicles.
