  • Patent number: 5582111
Abstract: A railway axle assembly with orientable wheels (8) is compensated in width when passing on a railway track curve. The assembly comprises side beams (5,5') articulated to the opposing ends of a telescoping axle (4). The side beams (5,5') are coupled to each other by at least one connecting rod device comprised of at least one broken rod (13) hinged at a breaking point to a lever-relay (15,25) carried by the axle (4) so as to entrain the breaking point in an angular displacement of an arc of a circle in a direction opposite to that of the beams (5,5') in order to compensate for the width loss of the axle when taking curves.
