    Abstract: Motor-vehicle bonnet having a torsional strength greater than or equal to 5 N/mm and a flexural strength greater than 55 N/mm, comprising: an external shell (1; 1′; 1″) made of laminated composite sheet comprising two external facings made of steel sheet and a core of uniform thickness made of polymer material; internal reinforcing means (2; 3, 3′; 8) fastened to the said shell, the weight of which is less than 40% of the total weight of the bonnet. Bonnet which is at once lightweight, strong and inexpensive.
