  • Patent number: 9366174
Abstract: A safety device for operating a catalytic converter, including: a heat screen installed substantially on a portion of an outer wall of the catalytic converter, and including an opening through which a measuring device attached onto the catalytic converter is to pass, the measuring device including a substantially cylindrical base configured to engage with the catalytic converter; a safety device to be arranged on the heat screen, the safety device including a plate including a circular opening having a diameter that is greater than a diameter of a base, the opening being delimited by a lip; and a device for attaching the plate to the heat screen such that the lip surrounds the base with a minimum clearance.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 8769930
Abstract: A motor vehicle exhaust system, including at least one pollutant-removing member, for example a catalytic converter or a particle filter, including a first outlet and connected to an exhaust line of an associated vehicle, and a second outlet for collecting exhaust gases with a view to recycling the same, the second outlet being connected to an inlet pipe of an exchanger for cooling exhaust gases, an outlet pipe of which is connected to a housing that receives a valve for controlling exhaust gases. The housing of the control valve includes a sole plate to be attached to an end sole plate of the outlet pipe of the exchanger, and the housing is attached directly onto a body of the exchanger.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 2010
Date of Patent: July 8, 2014
    Assignee: Renault S.A.S.

  • Patent number: 6915634
Abstract: A supercharger arrangement for an engine assembly 10 is disclosed, the arrangement including first and second superchargers 22A, 22B that are mounted on the engine assembly by means of separate first and second mounting members 46, 48 respectively. Each mounting member defines an integrated supercharger lubrication conduit 62A, 62B, 64A, 64B and the present invention is characterized in that the superchargers 22A, 22B are of substantially identical construction and are separable from the first and second mounting members 46, 48. The integrated lubrication conduits 62A, 62B, 64A, 64B are routed through their respective said mounting members in such a manner as to enable the first and second superchargers to be mounted on the engine assembly 10 in substantially mirror image orientations thereabout.
