  • Publication number: 20040180700
Abstract: The invention relates to a subscriber identity module for use in a mobile radio terminal for identifying a first subscriber in a cellular telecommunication system. According to the invention, said module (7) includes a first file (EFMic) for customizing ringtones that is adapted to specify a ringtone from a predetermined library of ringtones to be played by sound reproducing means of the terminal if a second subscriber connected to the network attempts to contact the first subscriber.

  • Patent number: 6504932
Abstract: A method of transferring information between a subscriber identification model and a mobile terminal constituting a station of a radiocommunication system in which at least some of the information transferred between said module and said terminal is protected by encryption. The subscriber identification module and the mobile terminal include encryption means using a key defined at least in part by periodically-varying data specific to the system.

  • Patent number: 6341228
Abstract: A method of parameterizing the display on display means associated with a piece of radiocommunications mobile equipment co-operating with a subscriber identity module, the method having the following steps in order: said subscriber identity module sends a set of commands to said mobile equipment, said commands enabling the display on said display means to be parameterized; and said commands are executed by said mobile equipment on said display means.

  • Publication number: 20010049279
Abstract: A method of optimizing an external and/or internal memory of a radiocommunications terminal in which information received by said terminal is stored and permanently associated with an indicator representative of the erasable nature of said information, wherein erasable information is erased automatically as a function of the consulting of said information by the user.

  • Patent number: 6278885
Abstract: A mobile phone uses a subscriber identification card which includes memory used by the mobile phone as external auxiliary memory. The mobile phone itself includes memory and can transfer data from the card's memory to the phone's memory. The card executes commands for updating data contained in the card's memory which is transmitted by short mobile phone messages to the mobile phone and eliminates the commands contained in the short messages after they are executed. The mobile phone can detect if data has been eliminated from a short message by the subscriber identification card and triggers the phone's memory to transfer data when elimination of data has been detected.

  • Patent number: 6178324
Abstract: A method of adapting the operation of a subscriber identity module as a function of information received from a mobile radio communications terminal concerning one or more interfaces of the mobile radio communications terminal. The subscriber identity module transmits an interface information acquisition command to the communications terminal. Upon reception of the interface information acquisition command, the terminal executes the interface information acquisition command to generate a reply containing interface information which is transmitted to the subscriber identity module. Upon reception of the reply, the subscriber identity module adapts its operation as a function of the interface information contained in the reply.

  • Patent number: 6097967
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method of downloading a predetermined list of items into a mobile terminal controlled by a subscriber identity module, in which method:the subscriber identity module transmits a downloading command to the terminal to download items from said list; andthe terminal receives said downloading command and executes it.The items from said list are distributed in a set of at least one downloading command organized to be transmitted successively. Each downloading command contains an end-of-downloading mark that takes either a first value or a second value depending on whether or not said downloading command is the only or last command in said set of commands.
